3 reasons job postings don’t work well

Why do job postings bring in so many resumes that just don’t fit?

Hacking Job Descriptions

1. Boring!

If the job description is not written from the point of view of attracting the right person with the exciting part of the job, then people’s eyes will glaze over and they will only see the name of your company and where to send a resume.

2. Unclear!

If the job description is just taken straight out of the internal descriptions used for compensation, it may be full of jargon that is only used inside your company.

3. Incomplete!

If the job description does not describe the top 5 to-do items for the first year, the right candidates will not know if they can or want to accomplish them.
